Patti Petalson (Selma Blair) is a realtor who is stuck being married to a restaurateur who is an egomaniac. Patti used to be a writer but cannot seem to regain her former inspiration to write. Then she gets reunited with her old love Brian Callahan (Patrick Wilson), who is a popular writer and autographs books for fans. His best friend, Michael Murphy (Edward Burns), used to be a student with a drinking problem but is now a sober lawyer who is doing well. He used to date Patti’s pal Kate Scott (Debra Messing) during their college days, and he wants to reclaim her even though he had treated her shabbily in the past. |
